Courrier Cadres magazine has a six-page spread this month on Specialist MBAs (with reports from Christiane Migraine and Catherine Feldman).
Along with the MBA in International Luxury Brand Management at the Essec, the Executive Wine MBA in Bordeaux (BEM), and the MBA Développement durable et responsabilité sociale des entreprises at EM in Strasbourg, the IFM’s Executive MBA (Global Fashion Management Executive MBA, or GFM) is cited as one of the most sought-after courses in France today (a « very desirable course », according to Courrier Cadres).
Two GFM graduates are quoted in the article: Anne Crespel, a marketing and sales specialist who began her career at Nestlé and who wanted to reorient her career into fashion, underlines that the “IFM gives quite an exhaustive overview of the fashion business”. After the GFM, she set up as a consultant and sales agent in fashion to represent and distribute young brands.
Renaud Molinari, another GFM graduate who was already working in the business was quoted as saying: « I wasn’t really interested in going back into the general issues of the business but in exploring the issues in my sector: distribution, logistics, markets and communication". His objective was to move up the management ladder.
After the GFM, he was hired as collection director at Pierre Hardy, the shoe and leather-goods designer (www.pierrehardy.com). « The MBA increased my visibility for recruiters, business owners and headhunters. In addition, I was able to create a network of international contacts with students from Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Korea. It has notably helped me to reflect on the development strategy of the brand and its distribution”.
