In July 2010, IFM offers you the chance to take advantage of the summer in order to discover the world of fashion in Paris, capital of creation, through a series of one-week courses geared towards small groups of participants. The IFM Summer School will give you an overview of the French creative industries, in terms of history and contemporary creative expression in fashion, cosmetics and beauty, design, luxury, architecture and art. No previous knowledge of fashion is required.
Three different programs :
- Beauty : culture, products, professions (from Monday 5 to Friday 9 July)
- The culture of fashion, design and luxury (from Monday 12 to Saturday 17 July)
- The business of fashion in France: brands, markets and careers (from Monday 19 to Friday 23 July)
And two « Junior » programs intended for French-speaking students aged 15 to 18 years old
- Panorama of the world of fashion (from Monday 28 June to Friday 2 July)
- The fashion product and its communication (from Monday 5 to Friday 9 July)
These one-week, stand-alone programs can be taken independently or can be combined at will. Conferences by industry experts and visits to stores and to cultural locations, particularly museums and galleries, will complement the lectures given by IFM professors.
The courses are taught in English or in French (same program/2 different courses), except for the Junior programs which are only in French.
It is strongly recommended that you have at least an intermediate level of fluency in the language selected.
