"After a year spent at Louis Vuitton's headquarters as project manager in leather goods development for the shows, I have just signed my first long-term contract to work at the prototype platform in Asnières, where I will be in charge of organization.
This new post involves managing all of the planning for a twenty-people site whose objective is to create models for the shows while anticipating the production constraints of the products. In addition to planning the level of work and medium-term production capacity, I am in charge of short-term adjustment linked to the studio's inspirations, deciding who takes on what product in the workshop according to the complexity involved and each person's skills… in short a very varied job that involves product specifications, planning and management with a direct link to the whole collection process. Finally, the advantage of managing a site that is human-scale is that I am deeply involved in all of the budget meetings, organization process and implementation of procedures to accompany the growth of this new structure that was set up only two years ago.
So the challenge is amazing for a first job with a lot of responsibilities and autonomy. I am thrilled to be starting my career with LVMH and that my year at the IFM has brought me closer to design while dealing with issues of optimization, flexibility and reactivity that are part of the vision of an engineer ».
Before the IFM, Thomas Nicolas did a masters in mechanical engineering at SUPMECA - Institut Supérieur de Mécanique de Paris /2008.
