Career Guidance at the IFM
The IFM has a reputation that is on a level with the « Grandes Ecoles » thanks to its close contacts within the profession.
The educational approach of the IFM favors maintaining strong and durable links with companies and recruiters and it has established an effective form of interactivity between the teaching staff, the industry and the student.
The professionals in the sector are involved first of all in the recruitment process as they participate in the admission process and secondly, as they are actively involved in teaching.
The Recruitment and career guidance department at the IFM has developed solid links with companies so as to be in a position to offer the students and alumni the following services:

- specific personalized help and advice adapted to the needs of the individual
Personalized career guidance
During the course of the years study at the IFM, each student is encouraged to build and refine his or her professional plans.
Individual meetings with the guidance counselor are organized to help the student to orient himself in relation to his or her academic journey and/or professional experience, their preferences and strong points, and the opportunities available in the sectors concerned.
Practical advice on how to write a CV and covering letters is also given.
All of the graduates of the IFM benefit from this personalized supervision, whether they are looking for work or wish to take stock of their career and their professional perspectives.
Professional perspectives
The IFM is a veritable career accelerator in the fashion and design sectors for the students that attend the institute where the employability of the students is given top priority.
Indeed over 80% of the young graduates are employed in the sector in the nine months of their leaving the IFM.
At the end of the academic year over half of the students on the POSTGRADUATE
FASHION DESIGN PROGRAM are already working as assistants to designers in the big couture houses or freelance designers ; the other half go on to create their own brand and/or line of clothing.
INTERNSHIPS
Over one hundred offers of internships come in to the IFM every year.
The internship takes place between January and March. It enables the students to put their knowledge into practice and favors their professional integration once they leave the IFM.
