"Had I not studied at the IFM, I would never have been considered for my present job, given my original training as an engineer. In addition, in my position as the link between the factory, the lab and the designers, I have an opening on to other functions that is central to the job of product manager."

Advice for young graduates
"For me, one must always be motivated by a passion for the product. In other sectors, you are not expected to be "as one" with the product but in our sectors, dedication is a must, a true attachment to a brand is necessary. We work in a sector that demands dedication and it is important to know this before starting."

"The IFM provided me with expertise in the sector through the testimony from professionals who raised our awareness of the strategic and operational issues within their companies and enlightened us on their jobs. I also learned to reflect on issues relating to product positioning, management and distribution. Above all, the IFM opens doors, but most of all it teaches us how to learn."

Head of commercial development for accessories – Hermès. A multilevel function that interfaces with the design teams and the worldwide network of Hermès boutiques, a position that requires product knowledge combined with business acumen.

What did the IFM do for you and more particularly how did it enrich your career?
"The IFM provided me with a precise insight on all fashion related sectors in the broadest sense (textile, accessories, beauty, sport, design, household, widespread distribution, luxury products...).
The teaching at the IFM gave me a broad knowledge of all of the players in the fashion business with a number of real-life case studies.
Finally, all through the year I acquired a true knowledge of fashion, today this apprenticeship enables me to have a real legitimacy among the professionals in the sector."

"When I graduated from business school, I wanted to develop my interest in fashion with a specialized course. Meeting with graduates from the IFM's management program during internships made me realize the importance of the course. By coming to the IFM I was looking to gain more knowledge on the strategies of the sector and the technological issues at stake and also looking for a broad cultural insight, precious elements when starting a career as product manager. In addition, I was aware of the advantage for companies of combining business school with an IFM course."

"I am a graduate of Sciences Po Paris, and have always been attracted to the fashion industry. I did an internship as assistant product manager at La Redoute and this convinced me to apply for the IFM's management program. Thanks to the diversity of the teaching and staff, I have learned about all of the facets of the sector and gained an insight into the issues currently at stake."
