The Design program annual event
Since the inauguration of the Design Program in 2000, the IFM holds a special event every year to present the fashion and accessory designers that are on the program.
In association with photographers, film-makers, artists and musicians, the designers have the unique opportunity to present “a year at the IFM”, in Paris during fashion week.
This event celebrates the partnership between the companies who enable the creation of the prototypes on show, and it aims to:
• Provoke encounters between a knowledgeable public (professionals, national and international press, people from the ministries, federations, luxury brand groups, textile industry, clothing industry, French and foreign distribution, the decision makers of the sector…) and the international designers on the program
• Ensure the promotion of the most innovative and well-thought out ideas within a professional context
• Encourage future careers for the designers in the fashion and design industries
• Highlight the added value that results from bringing together design and new technology through the use of the newest fabrics and most recent production methods
• Bring together tradition and creation, culture and industry by revisiting the skills of the artist and craftsman
• Spread the influence of Paris on a European and worldwide scale
Catalogues / Exhibitions
A prestigious catalogue is published each year highlighting the designs of the students and the savoir-faire of the partner industries. The catalogue is produced with the help of young graphic artists and photographers.
They are already considered collector’s items and have become a reference in the industry.
The designs are then exhibited at the major trade fairs (Made in France au Carrousel, Maison & Objet, Première Classe, Cuir à Paris, London Graduate Fashion Week...)
